The Dark & Stormy (and Goslings) hails from Bermuda and the "correct" ginger beer to use is actually Barritts - http://www.barrittsgingerbeer.bm/

I've never seen it sold anywhere else other than in Bermuda though.

I think for a good Dark and Stormy you need a rum with a very strong taste, Goslings achieves this perfectly. I would, however, also recommend any good quality aged rum as they are generally very flavourful.

I'm a huge fan of Goslings, and never cease to be amazed how many Dark & Stormy recipes specifically call for Goslings!
